Clover Park TC Professional Staff Hold Information Picket on Campus

To call attention to the college administration's attempts to block unionizing efforts, the Clover Park TC professional staff, also called administrative-exempt, held an informational picket Thursday, Dec. 11, at the college campus.

About 50 people showed up to demonstrate. In addition to Clover Park TC employees, some of the participants were from Bates TC, TFP, the Pierce County Jobs with Justice, AFT Washington.

State Law Passed to Allow Admin-Exempt Employees to Join Union

During the 2007 legislative session, the governor signed House Bill 2361 to allow administrative exempt employees to join a union. This classification of employees was previously exempt from collective bargaining.
